Make your favourite chutney in your home kitchen. Pair it with dosas idlis vadas or anything of your choice.
COCONUT CHUTNEY
Ingredients:
1 coconut
2 tbsps roasted chana dal (daalia)
Salt to taste
1 inch ginger roughly chopped
2 green chillies broken
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
1½ tbsps oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp split skinless black gram
8-10 curry leaves
2-3 dried red chillies stemmed
Medu vada to serve
Method:
1. Peel off the upper part of coconut and break it.
2. Scrape the coconut with the help of a scraper.
3. Transfer the scraped coconut in blender jar. Add roasted chana dal salt ginger green chillies coriander ½ cup water and grind to fine paste.
4. Transfer in a bowl and set aside/
5. For tempering heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter add asafoetida black gram and sauté till the dal turns golden brown.
6. Add curry leaves. Break the dried red chillies into small pieces and add to the tempering. Sauté for 30 seconds.
7. Add this tempering to the prepared chutney and mix.
8. Serve with medu vada.
