Juicy and crispy fried Nashville Fried Chicken is great to munch on during Hollywood flicks or game sessions.
NASHVILLE FRIED CHICKEN
Ingredients
4 chicken thighs
2 eggs
2 cups thick buttermilk
1½ cups refined flour (maida)
½ cup butter
Oil for deep frying
White bread slices to serve
Pickled gherkin slices to serve
Spice mix
3 tbsps onion powder
3 tbsps garlic powder
1 tbsp crushed black peppercorns
1 tbsp paprika powder
3 tbsps cayenne pepper powder
Salt to taste
Ingredients
1. Mix onion powder garlic powder crushed black peppercorns paprika powder cayenne pepper powder and salt in a bowl.
2. Take chicken thighs in a large bowl break in the eggs and mix well. Add 3-4 tbsps of the spice mix and rub the mixture well on the sides of the chicken thighs. Set aside for 10 minutes.
3. Add the chicken into the buttermilk and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for 3-4 hours to marinate.
4. Take refined flour in a large plate add 2-3 tbsps spice mix and mix well.
5. To make the sauce heat butter in a deep pan. Let it melt. Add the remaining spice mix and cook for 30 seconds. Switch the heat off.
6. Coat the chicken pieces with the flour mixture till well coated on all sides.
7. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the chicken pieces a few at a time and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp. Drain on a wire rack.
8. Drizzle the sauce over each fried chicken thigh on each side.
9. Serve the fried chicken with white bread slices and gherkin slices.
