Try these winter-special tender pigeon peas cooked in ghee and spices. There is something about simplicity that makes it so amazing.
GHEE WALA TOOVAR DANA
Ingredients
¼ cup ghee
2½ cups fresh pigeon peas (toovar dana)
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsps chopped green garlic bulbs
1½ tsps green chilli paste
2 cups chopped green garlic stalks
½ tsp garam masala powder
Method
1. Put the fresh pigeon peas in a pressure cooker. Add turmeric powder salt and 2 cups water and mix well. Place it on medium heat and cook till 4 whistles are released.
2. Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely.
3. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add chopped green garlic and mix well. Cook till golden brown.
4. Add green chilli paste mix and cook for 1 minute. Add the cooked pigeon peas and mix well.
5. Add the green garlic stalks garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
6. Serve hot.
