Over the years, Shah Rukh Khan has been used to several controversies, but this one must have surely taken the superstar by surprise. A laundrette owner in Glasgow has complained against his production company, Red Chillies, for not paying their laundry bill!
According to initial estimates, the laundry bill may be running into nearly INR 56,000 but owner Sukhvinder Singh Sekhon says that it is a matter of principle and not about the money.
Sukhvinder alleges that Red Chillies ran up the bill while shooting in Scotland for Sujoy Ghosh's Badla that stars Tapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan and Ali Fazal among others. The film, a remake of the 2016 Spanish film Contratiempo, is jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment.
They told her there would be hundreds of washes per week and was going to be inundated. But the money came through in dribs and drabs and is still waiting for them to settle 581 (INR 55,606). The clothes were washed at the Art Laundrette in Glasgow. It may not seem a lot of money to them but its the principle.
Sukhvinder also said how she picked up dirty linen at three hotels and returned it the same day. She claimed she even delivered for free.
