This dish may sound fiery but is extremely flavourful and has an amazing hint of delicate spiciness that comes from the light green chillies and compliments the chicken really well.
GREEN CHILLI CHICKEN
Ingredients
2 green chillies + to serve
150 grams light green chillies
750 grams chicken cut into 2 inch pieces on the bone
2 medium onions roughly chopped
1 inch ginger roughly chopped
6-8 garlic cloves
1 cup fresh coriander leaves
3 tbsps oil
2 tsps cumin seeds
½ tsp Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
½ tsp garam masala powder
Onion wedges to serve
Lemon wedges to serve
Method
1. Put onions in a blender jar add ginger garlic green chillies and coriander leaves and blend to a fine paste.
2. Heat oil in an earthen pot add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add light green chillies and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add ground paste and mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder and mix well.
4. Add chicken and salt and sauté on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Cover and cook for 5-10 minutes sautéing occasionally.
5. Add 1 cup water and mix well cover and cook for 15-20 minutes sautéing occasionally.
6. Add garam masala powder and mix take the pan off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl. Serve hot with onion wedges lemon wedges and green chilli.
