Consequently he contracted a severe case of COVID-19 which led to serious complications. Due to poor tolerance of allopathic medications heavy doses caused bleeding ulcers in His gut dropping His hemoglobin to a fatal 3.5 g/dl. After a life-threatening battle in the ICU He was returned to the same prison the same COVID hotspot and once again denied bail. November 2023_ Asharamji Bapu suffered a heart attack. But no interim bail was allowed. December 2023_ With plummeting temperatures in Jodhpur the angina pain aggravated and the saint suffered from 2nd heart attack. January 2024_ 3rd episode of heart attack further worsened His health condition seriously. It is well-known that low temperatures aggravate angina in heart patients. No measures were taken to protect the patient from the cold. On immergency occasions the time taken to access basic emergency care from the availability of the jail doctor to completing formalities securing an official vehicle for transport from Jodhpur Central Jail to a government medical facility and the waiting period there ranged from 10 to 20 hrs ! To add to that the medical care provided does not suit the patient's body well leading to severe intestinal bleeding severe blood loss and life threatening condition frequently. Yet no relief.. May 2024_ The scorching heat of 48 degrees Celsius left the patient severely dehydrated causing a drop in blood pressure and severe angina episodes ones again. A great hurdle in providing proper treatment at the government hospital is that that he has been advised by - pass surgery followed by specific endoscopy which is unavailable at the govt facility in Jodhpur and must be done at Delhi. However whether these interventions can be given to Asharamji Bapu at the age of 87 is still a question due to the high risk they pose to the patient. At 87 years of age with severe health conditions the delays in receiving basic emergency care extreme cold and heat unsuitable treatment methods are worsening the case. Despite over 12 years in prison and not a single day of bail Sant Shri Asharamji Bapu’s case is still pending in highcourt with full respect and cooperation with the Indian legal system.
